This course presents basic techniques in descriptive and inferential statistics. Topics include measures of central tendency, variability, probability, hypothesis testing, t-tests, analysis of variance, regression, correlation, and nonparametric techniques. Emphasis is placed on computer applications in statistics. One statistics course may be used to fulfill three credits of the Mathematics competency. MAT 203 is required of students seeking certification in Secondary Education in Mathematics. Prerequisite: MAT 110/113 or higher or permission of Department Chairperson.
