This course, in addition to preparing students to meet the Municipal Police Officers' Education and Training Commission standards for municiple police officers' physical fitness and defensive capabiities, provides an understanding of emotional health and stress management. Topics covered include physical fitness training, defensive tactics (tactical self-defense and the use of less-lethal-weapons as use-of-force options), emotional health, stress management resiliency training, and promotes development of lifelong physical activity. 4-0-4 Prerequisite: PLIC 147

This course describes the fundamentals of mathematics required for success in Algebra, Statistics, and beyond. Topics include operations on whole numbers as well as decimals and fractions, evaluating and simplifying algebraic expressions, solving equations, and factoring expressions. ( 4-0-4)

This course is designed as intensive instruction and practice in personal development, analytical thinking, cummunication, and technological skills through the writing of coherent paragraphs and essays for specific audiences that demonstrate grammatical, organizational, and analytical competence.This course includes writing skills such as drafting, revision, and editing processes, as well as document design, researching, and documentation. Upon completion, students will also be able to demonstrate effective skills in reading comprehension, analysis, and evaluation of college level texts and scholarly sources. This course is designed as a co-requisite to WRIT 101 2-0-2

This course examines the scientific study of behavior and mental processes and provides a survey of the major areas of psychology. Important topics and findings from psychology are reviewed.
