3 credits. Every semester This lecture/lab survey course covers basic skills, which include news reporting and writing. Students are also introduced to the history, traditions, practices, laws, and ethics of journalism in the U.S. As part of their coursework, students write for The Dispatch, for which the course serves as a training ground. JOU 2515 is the prerequisite for all upper-level journalism courses. Corequisite: JOU 2515.10
