Topics to be analyzed include the influence of historical and cultural factors on attitudes, changing understanding of the nature of sexuality in the Western world, influence of religion in moderating change, effect of disease in forming attitudes, and the development of the concepts of deviance, stigmatized behavior, and gender dysphoria.
