RECM 100: Rec Land Mgmt Techniques I

A practical methods course designed for Recreation and Sports Area Management majors. Students will be working under the supervision of Plant Science faculty and staff in occupational experiences that simulate many of the day-to- day work skills of persons employed in recreational resource management positions. Each student is requried to participate in a total of 30 hours of work experience per semester.

The establishment and maintenance of turfgrass are studied in this course. Lawn, golf course and athletic field care are emphasized. Laboratory experiences include: seeding, installing sod, fertilizing, mowing, spraying, aerating and other commonly performed maintenance practices.
