Study of Chinese at the advanced level with further emphasis on developing literacy skills in reading and writing and cultural literacy, through a variety of texts from the humanities, social sciences, business, and mass media. Students will continue to enhance communication skills in listening and speaking. Assignments include class projects, in-class oral presentations, skits, and written compositions. By the end of the course, students are expected to be able to discuss various topics related to the ones in the textbook and to write multi-paragraph compositions. Classes are conducted in Chinese. Students taking this course are expected to commit substantial time outside of class to fulfilling the course requirements. Course must enroll at least five students to be offered.
