The student will be able to design and use shoring, sloping and benching systems to prevent and protect against excavation cave-ins. Also, to prevent vehicular exposure and proper use of safety equipment. The student will be conducting several soil tests using various methods. They will also inspect all safety equipment and shoring equipment. Students will be given a trenching situation, will test, evaluate and select the proper equipment and the degree of slope and implement all safety procedures.
