AMG 101: Intro to Animal Care

The lecture component will cover psychological needs of animals, safety procedures, animal nutrition, sanitation and pest control. The laboratory will take the form of on site internship at the Buffalo Zoo, Aquarium of Niagara, various kennels, stables, veterinary facilities and other animal facilities under the supervision of facility employees and NCCC personnel. Students are required to purchase a uniform, consisting of a khaki-brown shirt and pants, work boots, safety goggles and gloves. (Offered Fall semester only). Restricted to Animal Management students. Prerequisite/Corequisite: AMG 201
