The intent is to initiate or enhance students’ critical thinking about visual form in historical and contemporary art and design. Students’ ability to understand and use art vocabulary will be developed through readings, writing assignments, oral discussion, slide lectures and work with visual media. Strategies for achieving success in college level academic and studio work will be introduced and used in the process. Correlation between the visual arts and other disciplines will be encouraged.
