    3 credits The nature and practice of international marketing management are explored. The course concentrates on explaining how culture and environment for different countries affect marketing strategy, including an environmental/ cultural approach to international marketing. It covers problems of marketing across national boundaries as within different national markets, emphasizes the environment in which the international market takes place; deals with planning, pricing, distribution and promotional strategies of international marketing managers; examines ways of integrating and coordinating the firms marketing, and examines the marketing- management-type 4-Ps concept and draws attention to the role of research and market segmentation in the global marketing process. Includes coverage of important topics such as the big Emerging Markets, the World Trade Organization, and relation-ships marketing. PREREQUISITE: MK-101

    3 credits This course is a study of consumer issues concerning the acquisition, consumption, and distribution of goods, services and ideas domestically and from a cross-cultural perspective. The course focuses on the various aspects of consumer buying behavior, consumer motivation, persuasion, sociological aspects of consumption, and the psychology of consumer preferences.     3 credits This capstone course focuses on advanced marketing topics of current interest. A wide variety of ideas are explored with respect to formulating marketing strategies and the integration of marketing management concepts. Management of the marketing function is stressed in developing, forecasting, budgeting, organizational principles, motivation, training, and evaluation and control. This course should be taken in the last semester of marketing majors. PREREQUISITE: MK-322

    2 credits This course focuses on the philosophy, objectives and conceptual framework of the nursing program. Students are introduced to the scope of practice of the LPN. Teachinglearning, nurse patient relationship and communication are introduced. The steps of the nursing process, growth and development and cultural values are also discussed. Case studies are used to provide background information to enhance the student's understanding of nursing. At the end of the course, the student will be able to describe and explain the scope of practice for the LPN. Legal and ethical issues and explored.

    3 credits The student learns the basic terminology, abbreviations and units needed to perform pharmaceutical calculations. Apothecary, avoirdupois, and metric systems are an essential component of this course. Conversion between the systems, application of formulas, calculations of fractional dosages, and methods of calculating dosages from all drug forms. Review of calculations dealing with ratio and proportion, percentages, ratio strength, reducing and enlarging formulas, and dilution and concentration problems. Interpretation of prescriptions and orders and subsequent calculation of appropriate doses.

    4 credits, 3 lecture hours, 3 lab hours This is the first course of the Anatomy and Physiology sequence. The course focuses on major biological theories. Topics covered include body organization, chemistry of life and cellular functioning. Gross and microscopic anatomy and physiology of the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems are discussed. Each student is responsible for the dissection of a sheep brain as well as extensive laboratory exercises involving microscope work, experimental procedures, and mastery of models, charts, and computer programs in anatomy and physiology. Course is required for the Practical Nurse certificate program.
