    This course provides in-depth instruction in the use of truck/ladder company equipment as needed for emergency situations. This includes the use of ground ladders equipment for fire suppression. This course will also include such topics as specialized tools used for ventilation, forcible entry and search and rescue procedures. Prerequisite: Students must be a member of a certified professional / volunteer fire department, law enforcement agency or by permission of Program Director.     This course provides an in-depth look at the concepts in water supply for firefighting purposes. The course meets State and National standards, as well as reflecting the requiremenets of the private insurance industry, as they relate to water supply regulations. This course will give the students the necessary skills in determining water supply requirements and proper delivery methods. Prerequisites: Students must be a member of a certified professional/voluneer fire department, law enforcement agency or my permission of the Program Director.     This course provides in-service instruction in fire truck company operations. It will include duties and responsibilities of the ladder/truck company and operating and maintaining specialized tools, with specific hands on instruction on ventilation, search and rescue and forcible entry. Prerequisites: Must be a member of a certified professional and/or volunteer fire department, law enforcement agency or by permission of the Program Director, Fire Fighter I or its equivalent, students must also have Interior Firefighter Certification.     This course addresses the supervisors roll in rescue and ventilation, containment and extinguishment, water supply, exposures and defensive operations, salvage overhaul and support. In concludes with a major fire simulation activity. This course is designed for the first line commander and/or any who is responsible for managing a tactical operation. Prerequisites: Students must be a member of a certified professional/volunteer fire department, law enforcement agency, or by permission of the Program Director. Fire Fighter I or its equivalent.     This course provides a base of knowledge from which to prepare students for a wide range of possible rescue operations. Instruction will include such topics as: risk and priority assessment, search and rescue, use of ropes and applicable knot systems, low angle rope rescue systems, establishment of landing zones and helicopter operations. Prerequisites: Students must be a member of a certified professional/volunteer fire department, law enforcement agency or by permission of the Program Director, Successful completion of Basic Firefighter, Firefighter I or equivalent is required for attendance.     This course offers the student education and skills to adequately perform basic vertical rope rescue techniques in an urban/suburban environment. While many of the techniques and skills taught in this program are applicable to the wilderness environment, this is not the intent of this program. The overall objective is to improve rescuer awareness of the safety concerns at rope rescue situations and to develop basic skills in rappelling and high-angle rescue systems. Topics include safety orientation, risk assessment, equipment, basic rappelling and ascending, anchoring, belaying, mechanical advantage, patient packaging, incident management, skills evaluation and testing. Prerequisite: Students must be a member of a certified professional/volunteer fire department, law enforcement agency or by permission of the Program Director. Campus and Term: J occasionally

    This course is designed to give the volunteer fire police specific training in the laws that govern their duties and responsibilties. Instruction will cover New York State Penal Laws, New York State Criminal Procedure Laws, Article 35 Use of Force and Deadly Force, and the right of fire police to take custody of firearms under certain circumstances.
