    This course endeavors to reinforce and deepen knowledge of Hellenistic Greek grammar, syntax, and prose-style through translation of a selection of writing from the environment of early Christianity. Readings will enable students to expand their vocabularies of Koine Greek and gain an appreciation of the variety of styles among Greek writers of the first two centuries. Students will become familiar with a number of philological aids, e.g., lexica, historical and descriptive grammars and concordances.
