Introduction to the range of methodological approaches used in urban-related research. These include macroscopic analysis, demography, survey research, historical research, institutional analysis, participant observation, community studies, policy analysis, and evaluation research. Emphasis is placed on the development of critical skills at reading, interpreting, and analyzing social science research, whether this research is encountered in textbooks and lectures, in professional journals, or in the popular media.
