Designed to prepare students for integrating psychological perspectives of learning and teaching with technology in their respective disciplines. Students will examine the role of cognition in learning and consider how technological media may be used to promote the effective use of cognitive strategies in the various subject matter domains. Specifically, they will explore the nature, type, and function of cognitive skills in learning (e.g., critical thinking skills, metacognition, and problem-solving), and how these cognitive processes and skills are used in the acquisition, perception, representation and construction of knowledge.
