The major aim of the course will be to demonstrate to students how to research an academic topic and how to use the information collected to write academic essays.     This course will offer students practice and study strategies for each section of the TOEFL: Listening Comprehension, Structure and Written Expression, Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary, and the new Test of Written English. The same format and style of the TOEFL will be used. Test-taking tips and study strategies will be part of the course. Lecture ( 45.00)

    This course will cover the following: language functions in medical writing, practice in fluent telephone conversation, doctor/patient conversation, conversation with patients in different settings (hospitals, clinics, laboratories, etc.) familiarization with shapes and names of surgical and medical equipment, different practice ideologies for various illnesses (hypertension, tonsillitis, pneumonia, etc.), medical terminology, pronunciation, and emotional communication with patients.
