    This course builds on the foundation learned in Video Imaging Technology I. It further develops the student's use of video desktop. Students will study the art of morphing, video footage, rotoscoping, and working with a video camera. Creative and conceptual development are emphasized throughout the course in the areas of imaging processing through the use of video desktop.     This course provides a detailed examination of the equipment and techniques of video imaging technology. Areas include advanced editing techniques including SMPTE time code and different types of video quality, which will be based on production and digital effects. Through a series of exercises and projects, students will explore advanced techniques from storyboard design to video taping, to on-line editing with images and sound, to final output capabilities.     A comprehensive introduction to basic video production techniques and equipment. Proper procedures are explained for the use of video cameras, lenses, video stocks, lights, microphones, tape-recorders, editors, and other video equipment.     This course will deal with advanced studies of video production and direction, combining studio and fieldwork. This is a hands-on course, which will include conceptual and aesthetic techniques of film style single camera productions, 30-second spot, instruction and training program development. The course will include writing program proposals, scripts, shooting schedules and non-linear editing. Additionally, there will be presentations by, and interaction with, a variety of media professionals. Projects are produced outside normal class hours. Lecture ( 45.00) Prerequisites: CGR-235

    This course introduces animation techniques as they apply to computer assisted animation, with particular emphasis on two dimensional animation. This course will also survey traditional and computer animation history, techniques, and terminology. The student will learn basic concepts and skills of sequential electronic imaging, frame-by-frame animation, creating storyboards, and principles of motion and continuity. Lectures include demonstration of software used in assignments and class discussions of state-of-the-art animation. Lecture ( 45.00) Prerequisites: CGR-111

    This course builds on the foundation in Computer Animation I. It further develops the student's basic animation skills with particular emphasis on the fundamentals of three dimensional objects. Students will study advanced computerized animation techniques, working in the three dimensional environment, modeling objects, lighting, and rendering. The student will continue to explore the different types of computer animation used today. Creative and conceptual development are emphasized throughout the course.     This capstone course explores advanced concepts in 3D designing and producing computer-generated animation. Students begin production of animation samples that demonstrate creativity and knowledge of sophisticated animation techniques. Students will complete a number of 3D projects and assignments, research animation career opportunities and develop a video portfolio of their own work. Lecture ( 45.00) Prerequisites: CGR-242

    This course explores various aspects of special effects in game design, multimedia and film/video. Developers must be familiar with the basics of applying sound and visual effects in a computer generated interactive environment. Students will learn how to composite special effects by combining the elements of graphics, animation, video, and audio using leading industry software. Students will learn some of the mysteries behind the production of special effects by reviewing case studies. Students will complete various assignments and create projects that demonstrate their understanding of special effects. Lecture ( 45.00) Prerequisites: CGR-112

    This course will provide studio experience in creating presentation graphics. This course introduces the tools for making slides and transparencies for business and educational presentations, including desktop film recorders for recording slides, and knowing how to use services bureaus.     This course will aid in the process of building and developing a professional portfolio of computer graphics. Students will be required to go on at least one job interview or talk with a professional art director about their portfolios and job opportunities in the field of computer graphics. Students will design interactive resumes with original computer generated designs. Creative and conceptual development is emphasized throughout the course.
