PED 174: Concepts of Fitness and Wellness

This is a lecture/lab course Labs consist of assessments of physical fitness and light exercise sessions that are demonstrations of the concepts discussed during lectures. Students design and practice wellness projects (health behavior, lifestyle changes) and fitness projects (exercise/sports programs) These are assigned for out of class time, approximately two-three hours per week.

This course provides physical education credit for students engaged in the Leadership Laboratory portion of the Military Science and Leadership courses Students taking PED 192 are required to participate in the Leadership Laboratory of the associated MSL course being taken concurrently The course may be repeated for a total of two credit hours Verification of participation will be required by the Military Science and Leadership Coordinator prior to the awarding of credit Graded on a pass/fail basis, the course may be taken only twice for credit Corequisite: MSL 101, 102, 201, 202, 301, or 302.
