Surveys predominant contemporary sociological theories within the broader perspectives of functional analysis, conflict theorizing, interactionism, exchange, and macrostructure theory. Student become familiar with and gain insight into comparing and contrasting theories at both the micro and macro levels of analysis and the historical and philosophical roots of each perspective.
