For the student interested in environmental issues, an introduction to questions related to the environment. Ecosystems and the human impact on ecosystems as population density increases will be included. Different kinds of environmental damage and their problems will be discussed as well as peace and justice issues in the environmental arena. Every other year.

A comparative culture class taught in English in which students are introduced to the concept of cultural difference by examining basic U.S. cultural practices along with those of the foreign (i.e. French-speaking) culture. By comparing the U.S. with other nations, students find a new perspective through which to view their own culture, and at the same time they learn not to impose their own parochial meanings on another society's morals and practices.
