Serving as a bridge between the basic sciences and clinical medicine the course helps to make the student conversant with the limits of biochemical and physiologic responses under a variety of stresses and disease states. Emphasis is in three basic areas: abnormal, general cellular biology; homeostasis; and organ system pathophysiology.
