Prerequisite: None This course is a study of the travel destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, the Orient, etc. The location of major cities, airports, and air, land, and sea companies serving these areas is discussed. Also included is the location of important tourist attractions, historical monuments, works of art, unique land formations, and how tour companies operate in these areas.

Prerequisite: None This course covers essential information concerning organizing and operating a travel-related business. Organizational topics include: managing an electronic accounting system (records, sales, commissions, productivity); processing documents; preparing reports; determining profits and loss; and planning for the future. Operational topics include: office practices; sales techniques; client-need analysis; advertising strategies, and managerial techniques used to encourage optimum functioning of an agency.

Prerequisite: TRAV 110 and 116 This course will focus on electronic research and the making of reservations. This is to include both domestic and international information. The course includes the study of Internet sites for the public and sites for travel personnel only.

Prerequisite: TRAV 110 This course focuses on the basic legal concepts and theories of both travel/hospitality law and contract/tort (negligence) law and their impact on the travel/hospitality industry. Emphasis is also on the study of new international and federal regulatory rules concerning travel security and safety. Areas of potential legal concern are identified along with strategies concerning their avoidance. Legal rights and responsibilities of travel industry practitioners, as well as those of the traveling public, are discussed.

Prerequisite: TRAV 110 and 116 This course focuses on the fundamentals of researching, planning, recommending, and making reservations for domestic and international travel. The course material is to include air flight simulation, hotel/motel accommodations, car rentals, rail travel, cruises, and tours. Students will learn to use the standard reference materials and booking engines needed to apply these reference techniques.

Prerequisite: Admission to the Travel program and completion of a minimum of twelve semester hours of travel or travel-related courses This course involves student trainees who are employed at an approved training station with a program of training scheduled by joint agreement of the student, supervisor, and program coordinator. Special assignments including extensive travel projects and/or supplementary reports and supervisory direction and evaluation are required.

Prerequisite: None This course focuses on the complex and dynamic subject of logistics and its role within supply chain management, including a detailed examination of many elements of the logistics systems. The course also examines methods of analyzing, implementing, and controlling logistics as used by a firm and those firms with which it is linked.

Prerequisite: TYPE 120 with a grade of "C" or higher or touch typing ability at a minimum of 20 correct words a minute This course will provide keyboard reinforcement and instruction in basic word processing formatting commands for preparing tables, correspondence, and reports.

Prerequisite: Credit or equivalency in TYPE 121 This course is for all students wanting to register in a typing speed development course (TYPE 140, 141, 142, 143, 144, or 145). The student should enroll in this master course number regardless of speed goal desired. Placement into a specific speed course number will be by the instructor after classes begin and students are tested to confirm speed ability.
