    THE URBAN TEACHER / FIELD / 5 CLOCK HOURS (3) Examination of the current issues related to being a successful urban teacher. Topics include: teaching as a profession; diversity; school reform; ethics, values, and attitudes; multiple intelligence; creating an environment for learning; classroom management and discipline; curriculum development and planning; assessment and evaluation; teaching models; school family and community relationships; resources; professionalism; and stress management. Five hours of observation per term and the completion of a major research paper are required. Credit cannot be given for ED 5400/400 and ED 5492.
