    FOUNDATIONS OF TEACHING READING TO SPECIAL POPULATIONS (3) Examination of the special linguistic and other cultural factors that affect the teaching of reading to diverse populations. Research-based methods, strategies and materials will be compared and contrasted. Assessment practices will be evaluated as to their appropriateness for this specialized group of readers.
