Survey course addressing the key topics that define astronomy as a field of inquiry as well as many of the more recent, fascinating, and esoteric astronomical discoveries. Provides an acquaintance with the work of Aristotle, Ptolemy, Copernicus, Kepler, Galileo, Newton, and Einstein, as well as discussion of the latest findings of the Hubble Space Telescope.

Prereq: BIOL 216 and 216L, or perm. Precise anatomic relationships of organs and vessels with diagnostic ultrasound, as well as visualization of these structures in planes of section commonly used in ultrasound. Su II.

Prereq: 101. Integration of ultrasound physics and instrumentation with hands-on experience in the lab. Practice in modes of operation and safety. Includes observation, interpretation, and evaluation of results. Su I.

Prereq: 202, 203, 204. Combines ultrasound instrumentation with clinical practice in the University's ultrasound lab. Includes hands-on experience and study of interaction processes between the sonographer and patient in the form of decision making related to the studies and images revealed. Su II.

Principles of diagnostic ultrasound in relation to the pathological process, further presenting the practical aspects of scanning techniques, film critique, and patient care and handling in relation to the ultrasound exam. Introduction to the normal and abnormal sonographic anatomy of the abdomen and its recognition in ultrasound imaging systems, integrating the ability to differentiate between normal and abnormal organs. An in-depth continuation of abdominal sonography and its pathology, and differential diagnoses of various pathological states. F.

Prereq: 203, 205, 206. Introduction to the sonographic cross-sectional anatomy and physiology of the female reproductive system with and without pregnancy. How to recognize the sonographic appearance of the normal female pelvis, obstetrics and gynecological pathology. Differential diagnoses of various OB/GYN pathological states. Sp.
