Identification of types and sources of, and solutions to, air pollution problems. Students investigate the environmental consequences of air, radioactive, and noise pollution and explore solutions. Explores the need for understanding and compliance with national and international environmental regulations as well as anticipating and planning for major trends in environmental science and policy. Prereq: MATH 102. Includes the steps of anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of environmental factors or stresses arising in or from the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health and well-being, or significant discomfort among workers or citizens of the community. These stresses may be in the form of chemical hazards such as dusts, fumes, gases, vapors, and mists. Physical hazards such as noise, radiation, temperature extremes, vibration, and pressure extremes may also be encountered, with biological and ergonomic hazards. Sp odd; ISP, ISW.
