Basic designs and construction materials of greenhouses and growing structures. Familiarization of crop scheduling, environmental factors and their control as they affect crop production, integrated pest management strategies in greenhouses and marketing of horticulture crops. Being a hands-on grower for a bench of plants is a significant portion of the course. Prerequisite: none.

Continuation of plant production work begun winter quarter. Familiarization of crop scheduling, environmental factors and their control as they affect both greenhouse and nursery crop production, integrated pest management strategies and marketing of horticulture crops. Techniques unique to producing crops outdoors will be emphasized. Being a hands-on grower of plants and a plant merchandiser is a significant portion of the course. Prerequisite: hoRT 244.

Studies literary, philosophical, theological, or artistic movements, contributors, and works which have shaped Ancient Mediterranean and Medieval European sensibilities. Develops multiple strategies for analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating the cultural expressions which constitute the classical and medieval heritages of Europe. Prerequisite: 101 or WRIT 101 or concurrently or instructor's permission.

Studies literary, philosophical, theological, scientific, musical, or artistic movements, contributors, and works which have shapes Renaissance and Reformation sensibilities. Develops multiple strategies for analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating the cultural expressions which constitute the Renaissance and Reformation heritages of Europe. Prerequisite: enGl& 101 or WRIT 101, or concurrently, or instructor's permission.
