An introduction to fundamental algebraic skills needed for ElementaryAlgebra. Course includes a review of arithmetic and an introduction to graphing, simplifying algebraic expressions, exponents, and solving linear equations. Prerequisite: MATH 060 (2.0 or better) or a score of 35 or higher on the Pre-Algebra COMPASS test. Student option grading.

Fundamentals of algebra including simplifying algebraic expressions, solving linear and quadratic equations in one variable, graphing lines and parabolas, factoring and performing operations on polynomials. Applications. Prerequisite: Math 070 (2.0 or better), or a score of 55 or higher on the Pre-Algebra COMPASS test. Student option grading.

Students learn organizational and time management skills, skills for independent learning, problem-solving approaches, test-taking strategies, and techniques that promote confidence and success in mathematics.Concurrent enrollment in Math 070, 080, or 099 required.
