This course is a comprehensive introduction to the history, science and varieties of alcoholic beverages and their cultural influences. The students will learn the proper service approaches used when presenting wines, beers, and spirits. Emphasis will be placed on proper sanitation procedures for beverage service in addition to the fundamentals of responsible alcohol management. All students taking this course will have the opportunity to take the Training In Intervention Procedures (TIPS) certification.
