This course teaches students to incorporate fundamental scientific nutrition concepts, enabling them to make sound decisions to improve health and wellness and support disease prevention. Students utilize a variety of tools, guidelines, and techniques, empowering them to make intelligent applications of sound nutrition principles.

FL20) Aspiring nurses and other healthcare professionals will obtain foundational knowledg in human nutrition science and evaluate lifestyle behaviors as determinants of health, wellness, and prevention of chronic disease. The course will provide evidence-based recommendations for nutrients and energy throughout the lifecycle. Learners will identify the consequences of inadequate and excess consumption of nutrients and will explore the influence that food behaviors, environment, culture and physical activity have on health and wellbeing. Prereqs: (Eff. FL20) ENGL 101 and BIOL 109 both with a "C" or better.

1-1-1 This course is designed to provide students with the proper techniques necessary for developing mastery of the keyboard through the touch system. Diagnostic/prescriptive approach for developing keyboarding accuracy and speed is used. Ideal for learning basics and improving skills.

3-0-3 Provides students with the keyboard touch system they need to effectively input data information on various keyboards. General concepts of data entry and experience with data entry projects.

3-0-3 A hands-on introduction to the core features of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. In Word, students will create, edit, and format documents. In Excel, they will create worksheets with labels, values and formulas, and create graphs and charts. They will prepare, edit and format PowerPoint presentations.

3-0-3 This course includes the reinforcement of basic computer operations taught in OA 110 (Professional Keyboarding I), and increased emphasis on speed and accuracy development, and intermediate business correspondence formatting, utilizing word processing software. Prerequisite: OA 110 with a grade of C or higher, or Credit-by-Examination for OA 110.

1-2-2 Provides student with the use of 'touch techniques' to effectively enter alphanumeric data on the computer keyboard. Operation of special function keys and the touch method on the 10-key numeric keyboard. Familiarization with the formatting of letters, memorandums and short reports.

3-0-3 Study of the principles and procedures of various records management systems - alphabetic, numeric, geographic and subject filing. Hands-on experience with records control and record/information management through the creation, use, and maintenance of a database. Popular database applications software will be utilized. Prerequisite: OA 154 or OA 155.

3-0-3 Development and refinement of language facility and usage through complete and comprehensive coverage of grammar and language mechanics via printed and electronic resources. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will demonstrate competency in the digital workplace in both the spoken and the written word.

3-0-3 High-level production simulations in rough-draft format consisting of memorandums, reports, manuscripts, letters, tabulations, outlines and accounting and legal documents. WordPerfect advanced functions used. Continued emphasis on speed building. Exit keyboarding speed requirements - 46 gwam. Prerequisites: Minimum grade of C in OA 111 and OA 254.
