Prerequisite(s) : Demonstrate native or near-native language ability as defined by results of departmental proficiency exam and / or consent of department.

Study of the politics, social structures and traditions of the Mexican world from the pre-Columbian period until today, with a special focus on their contemporary life in order to build a foundation for a more in-depth study of the life, literature and culture of Mexico. Taught entirely in Spanish. Prerequisite(s): 6 hours from SPAN 3060, 3070, or 3080; plus SPAN 3090.
