An introduction to the forces that shape the solar system and the universe as well as the tools used to observe them. It presents a comprehensive review of the modern scientific view of the physical universe. Topics include the history of astronomy, astronomical technology, and the structure and evolution of astrophysical systems including the solar system, Sun, other stars, and galaxies.
