This course will examine the relationship between diversity and psychological processes of interacting with individuals who are different. Students will examine individual and societal perceptions of cognitive, emotional and physical disabilities as well as perceptions of the elderly. Issues of stereotyping, prejudicial beliefs and discrimination will be examined. The social, political and economic implications of the challenges and strengths of special populations will be examined. Pre-requisite PSY100.
