Performance management is the activity of ensuring that an organization is both effectively and efficiently meeting its goals or objectives. The focus can be on the organization as a whole, a department or a team, or an individual, or it can even be on an organizational process, program, or project. Tracking the performance of an organization can increase knowledge of operations, provide understanding in how better to use resources and improve customer value. In essence, it can provide opportunities to improve performance, which is critical to the future success of any organization.

The purpose of this course is to provide insight into what the study of Organization Development (OD) entails, its historical roots, an overview of the employed heuristic methods, and the major theories impacting individuals, organizations and cultures in contemporary society. For our purposes, OD will refer both to the general field of this major "organizational development' and to the professional career track (Organization Development).

Overview of the theories and applications of public relations and related fields. Examines integration of Biblical values in public relations through various lessons, case studies, and group projects. Fall semester.

The course explores the historical and theoretical developments in the research and practice of communicaiton within organizational structures. Students will learn major theories and will be able to identify and define primary concepts, then apply them to real world situations. Students will also examine the roles of technology, culture, leadership, teamwork, and ethics as they relate to organizational communication.

Hands-on experience in the theory and development of creating graphic communications. Basics of design for printed and electronic materials used in public relations and marketing are discussed. Fall semester, alternate even years.

The study of communication through the exploration and analysis of societal theories and contemporary issues.

This course engages digital communication contexts emphasizing the role of design in web based mediums. Students learn how to make informed design decisions about content placement and invention. Students are also introduced to first level content development in an industry standard content management application.

Exploring the various tools and tactics of effective public relations as a means of building mutually beneficial relationships between commercial and or nonprofit organizations and their various publics.

The course examines principles and procedures for communicating to multiple stakeholders and publics before, during, and after a crisis event. Students will explore the processes of planning, implementing and evaluating crisis communication plans. Particular attention to human responses in crisis situations will be carefully considered as one seeks to support, encourage, and restore people from a biblical worldview.

Instruction in, and application of, the fundamental skills, rules, and concepts of various sports and physical activities. Various sections include aerobics, badminton, basketball, golf, tennis, volleyball, racquetball, and weight training. Course syllabi include a more precise description of each section
