Discussion of microphones and techniques of application, operation and use of signal processors and effects. Exploration of analog recorders. Extensive use of modern digital recording devices. Preparation and planning for the Capstone Project in the major. The project may involve a senior recital, preparation and presentation of a portfolio or internship project. This culminating experience is an opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge gained in the discipline at an intense level during the senior year. This course provides an introduction to the major areas that make up Native American Studies. It provides an overview of contemporary Native Americans and the social, political, economic, and religious issues of special concern to them, as well as an examination of their prehistory, history, and traditional cultural patterns.
