This course is intended to heighten the student's understanding and appreciation of the labor-management relationship in a free enterprise system, with specific focus on the collective bargaining agreement as one of the mechanisms by which labor-management relationships are sustained. Students completing the course will have an understanding of labor economics, the historical development of the labor movement, the role of government in industrial relations, current practices in public policy, the negotiations process, contract administration, and the impacts of collective bargaining.
