DAC 204: Clinical Dental Assisting Ii

This course will enable each dental assisting student to gain clinical proficiency in the expanded duties legally permitted in the State of New York. The course focuses solely on those duties allowed by New York State Education Law, Section 6608. Clinical proficiency will be achieved through a minimum of 200 hours of clinical experiences monitored by a licensed Dentist/Preceptor. In addition, a weekly conference will provide the student and Preceptor with an avenue for discussion and expansion of clinical experiences, treatment modalities and ethical concerns. Each clinical experience will be planned, supervised and evaluated by the Preceptor. Prerequisites: C grade or better in DAC 101, DAC 102, DAC 103, DAC 201. Co-requisite: DAC 202 and DAC 203.
