Prerequisite: GER 103 or placement in a 200-level course This course improves students' language skills by reading and discussing newspaper and magazine articles about contemporary Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Students will develop an in-depth knowledge of the present cultural, economic, and political situations of the countries of the German-speaking world, as well as gain insight into the histories of these countries.

This course provides a study of a topic related to German language, literature, or culture selected after consultation between student and instructor. Semester/Year Abroad in Frankfurt, Germany variable course units This program provides all participants with an intensive study of the German language and helps them gain an appreciation of the country's culture. It will also impart an awareness and understanding of the economic, social, and cultural reality of modern Germany. Most courses are taught in German. Two courses every other semester are taught by faculty from TCNJ. Credits for all courses taken are transferred and thus offer a unique opportunity to earn college credit in a German university setting. This program allows time for travel, excursions, and other extracurricular activities. Course offerings in German include language courses at different levels. Inquiries should be directed to the Department of World Languages and Cultures- German section.
