The student will develop an understanding of the theories, processes, principles, and concepts of public budgeting and governmental management of the economy. This course is divided into two parts. The first segment of the course will examine in detail how the federal government produces a budget and study the consequences of this process. The second part of the course will analyze the role of government in managing the economy. 3 credits
