    This module focuses on three levels of analy-sis and its effects upon the cost centers and profit centers. These areas are addressed as they relate to cost accounting, cost-volume-profit analysis and relevant costs for decision- making. Adult learners will be expected to apply concepts covered in earlier courses in accounting.

    Principles of economics necessary to equip mangers and supervision for effectiveness de-cision making and leadership are presented. Special consideration is given to financial markets, the investment decision by the firm, the efficient market theory, and the financing decision. Specific economic concepts will be applied to problem solving in the manager's workplace.

    Principles of marketing that need to be un-derstood by mangers in all areas in order to develop and utilize effective marketing prac-tices are examined. Concepts of our global economy, including major psychological and political influences, are explored and their marketing implications considered from a manager's perspective.

    Business law studies the history, background, sources and influences of our modern-day law it pertains to the business activities of individ-uals, corporations and other legal entities. As a part of this module, particular emphasis is placed upon the laws governing contracts, creditors' rights, secured transactions, bank-ruptcy, agencies, partnerships and corpora-tions. Today's mangers need to understand the basis legal concepts to avoid costly cour-troom problems and other legal issues.

    Adult learners explore the values and percep-tions of selected groups affecting social and economic life though an analysis of policies and practices of recruitment, selection, train-ing, development and compensation of em-ployees. Special attention is given to Equal Opportunity and Office of Safety and Health Administration legislation through a series of case studies and simulations. OM/MGT 415 Strategic Planning (3 credits) This course introduces adult learners to vari-ous management planning models and tech-nique and applies these to business cases. It stresses the concepts of strategic planning and strategic management.

    This capstone course requires the adult learn-er to apply the theories learned and compe-tence acquired in previous modules of the Ac-celerated Degree Program. The assigned project for the course challenges the adult learner to fully analyze an issue in an organiza-tion, write a research paper on that organiza-tional problem and formally present his or her findings to a group of faculty and peers. Both the oral and written presentations of the anal-ysis are integral parts of performance evalua-tion.

    This course gives students a well-balanced, self-paced program and the knowledge they need to design a customized weight-training program. It will include an overview of the muscle groups affected by the various weight training exercises and provide a knowledge base for nutritional needs while weight train-ing.

    This course will give students an advanced knowledge of weight training in the areas of muscle development, nutritional needs and program design. The students will be intro-duced to Olympic style lifts as well as design-ing a program that will produce strength gains and muscle development.

    This course gives students a well-balanced, self-paced program and the knowledge they need to design a customized cardio-respira-tory fitness program. Knowledge of the inner working of each piece of aerobic equipment along with developing the proper technique to be used with each exercise machine at the fit-ness center will be emphasized.
