This is the first of four courses offered as preparation for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification exam. The focus is on network terminology, communication protocols, local-area networks (LANs), wide-are networks (WANs), Open System Interconnection (OSI) model, cabling, Ethernet, internet protocol (IP) addressing, and network standards. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to perform tasks related to networking mathematics, IP addressing and subnetting, copper, optical, and wireless connections, and operation of 10/100/1000/10 G versions of Ethernet and Ethernet switching.
