BI 100: Biology Enhancement
1.00 Credits
Millikin University
This course is designed to support the entry-level core biology course, BI 105, Ecology and Evolution, and to help students make the transition to college level thinking in science. Students must be concurrently registered for both BI 105, the lecture, and BI 155, Ecology and Evolution laboratory. Although the course counts as credit toward graduation, it does not count as a credit in biology. We will work to develop the study skills necessary to succeed, concentrating on writing in biology, communicating with professors (especially the advisor), taking notes, reading scientific texts and papers, interpreting figures, and taking exams.

BI 105: Ecology & Evolution
3.00 Credits
Millikin University
Biology 105 is designed as a first course in biology for biology majors. It concentrates on the biology of whole organisms at the population, community, and ecosystem level. We will focus on the process of science and on evolution as an underlying theme. Student presentations and discussion are an integral part of the course. You must be present and prepared for each class in order to participate adequately. You will be asked to think critically and to integrate concepts rather than memorize and regurgitate. All students should be co-enrolled in BI 155, laboratory.
