EDU 473: Methods of Teaching Mathematics

An introduction to current methods, concepts and curricular materials appropriate for use in secondary mathematics. Required of all teaching majors in mathematics. Instructional methods appropriate for the exceptional, disadvantaged and culturally different learner are included. Does not count toward a mathematics major. May not be used as a core curriculum requirement for graduation. This course should be taken during the semester preceding student teaching. A 48 hour eight-week field experience is a course requirement. This course should be taken during the semester preceding student teaching.
