An advanced study of the scope and sequence, content, and skills of the National Association of Sprots and physcial Education (NASPE) Standards, in combination with a skill theme, and movement concepts approach to elementary school physical education. Students develop skills, knowledge, instructional planning, and use of educational technology for teaching fundamental motor skills to children in grades K-6. Developmentally appropriate instructonal strategies for the elementary school level are emphasized with the context of games, dance, gymnastics and fitness activities. An additional weekly lab experience is a major component of the course.
