    Applied small business study with another student under the guidance of a member of the CBE. Studies will examine current issues and problems for small businesses. Actual business clients will be utilized according to availability. Practical training for students to apply and to supplement their academic theory and preparation in addressing real-life business problems. Prerequisites: major in Center for Business and Economics and junior or senior standing with a cumulative grade-point average of 2.5 or better. Fall Term, Evening.

    For senior students who wish to pursue additional study of topics developed in other business courses. The precise format is determined by the nature of the topic, student ability, and the instructor with the approval of the director. A limited number of students are accepted on the basis of academic grade-point average, faculty recommendation, professional progress, and demonstrated interest. Repeatable under special circumstances to a maximum credit of two courses. Prerequisites: major within Center for Business and Economics, senior standing, and consent of the director. Upon request.

    Half course This course affords Honors Program students the opportunity to design and implement a significant research project in the field of business culminating in an appropriate public dissemination of the research methods and findings. This course must be taken concurrently with another 300-400 course in the major or minor, facilitating faculty supervision and guidance. Permission of the faculty supervisor and the Director of the Honors Program required prior to registration. Fall Term, January Term, Spring Term, Summer Term.

    This course teaches the organizational skills needed by the network specialist to work along side non-technical personnel in business and industry. Students learn problem-solving techniques related to project design and development, ergonomics, concepts of managing and organizing projects, and how to apply a team management approach to project administration and control. The case study method, combined with classroom exercises and student presentations will be utilized throughout this course.

    Emphasis is placed on 3-D graphics and various 145toolkits146 used to create this type of graphics such as Direct-X. Rendering of solid objects, life forms, fractal scenes and objects, terrains, 3-D modeling, lighting and shadowing, texturing, and other topics are discussed. Prerequisite: CS 220.
