Elementary drawing in charcoal and pencil from simple groups of block forms, still life and architectural ornament; includes developing pencil technique. No previous drawing experience necessary. A studio course that serves as an introduction to basic painting techniques and color principles applied to the exploration of oil and acrylic painting media. Advanced techniques and experimentation in use of materials and the development of creative styles in oil painting. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Study of multi-media and multi-image production; includes planning and producing a slide/tape projection; planning an audio-visual center in-house production facility; programming and dissolve controls, graphics for copy photography, and audio production.
