Instruction in current methods, materials, and appropriate activities for effective teaching of social science in secondary schools, including preparation of lesson plans, units, and projects, demonstrations, visits to schools, and discussions on special problems in teaching social science. Emphasis is placed on technological advances and their application to the modern classroom experience. Prerequisites: Junior status.Credit, three hours.

The senior capstone in history is the culminating course in the major. It is designed to allow the student to demonstrate competence in the major as well as an understanding of the breadth, knowledge, skills, and sensibilities that general education provides.
