A program that prepares individuals, under the remote supervision of physician medical control, to recognize, assess, and manage medical and trauma emergencies in the pre-hospital setting. Paramedic¿s work with other pre-hospital responders and caregivers and often provide on scene primary care, assistance, support and supervision. This will often include either direct patient care or supportive assistance in basic, basic/advanced, or intermediate, care giving procedures such as; scene assessment, patient assessment, trauma and medical triage, basic and advanced airway procedures, cardiac monitoring, defibrillation, 12 Lead ECG acquisition and interpretation, venous and IO access, medication administration, trauma stabilization, identification and acquiring a differential diagnosis of diseases and traumatic injuries, rescue operations; crisis scene management, personnel supervision; equipment operation and maintenance.
