Students meet for three, four-hour clinic/laboratory sessions weekly. Clinical and laboratory experience for the continued competency development of clinical dental hygiene skills is provided. Emphasis is placed on the implementation of a care plan developed with the indivi- dualized needs of the patient. Clinical competency in the techniques of ultrasonic scalers, oral irrigation, PSR and sealant application is required. Prerequisites: DH 185, 186, 285, and 286.
