An introduction to the highly interdisciplinary study of environmental science with an emphasis on the biological environment. Topics include: Biological communities and their relationships to the environment; population dynamics; food supplies and agriculture; endangered species; introduces species; problems facing earth's major ecosystems; causes, impacts, and mitigation of ecological threats. Laboratory exercises, projects and field trips are components of this course. Prerequisite: high school level biology strongly recommended. 4 semester hours
