Description: Introduction of fundamental music theory: scales, keys, meter and rhythm, triads, eartraining, and keyboard fundamentals. Course is designed for non-majors seeking basic musical skills, and for music majors with limited theoretical backgrounds. Credits: (3) Repeatable for Credit No Grading Basis GRD Notes: Does not count towards a Music degree.

Description: The melodic, rhythmic, and harmonic elements of music through ear-training, sightsinging, writing, analysis, and keyboard work. Prerequisites & Notes: Prerequisites, Students must be concurrently enrolled in MUS 154A (Class Piano I), or demonstrate equivalent proficiency, or by permission of Department Chair. Courses must be taken in sequence. Credits: (3) Repeatable for Credit No Grading Basis GRD Notes: Two hours lecture and two hours laboratory per week.
